Season 4 Event 3 | Location: Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Despite falling on the same day as the US Open finals Day one was filled with excitement that left fans and sailors in shock. At the beginning of the race, it was announced that Jason Saunders (Switzerland) and Francois Morgan (France) would swap teams for this weekend's tournament.

DAY ONE

Race One: As the racing kicked off France and Germany trailed behind the New Zealand into gate one. Around gate two NZL managed to find their way around Denmark, sliding into second place; while Great Britain and the USA tackled it out around gate two for second and third place.

The wind speed pushed Denmark into tenth place as most of the other teams came around the gate. USA fell back into seventh placing, while French out-maneuvered Denmark into second place ultimately landing in third place as Great Britain quickly overtook them around gate three.

All the while, Canada found themselves a penalty after colliding with the Spain boat on their way to gate four.

New Zealand, snuck around reclaiming the first place position pushing Great Britain back as they sent it on gate four.

Germany fought hard, grasping wind pushing them into the third-place position

New Zealand secured the first place position, Great Britain took second, and Denmark held tight to third place.


Race Two:: French leading around mark one. Going into gate two, the USA was in fourth in tandem behind Great Britain.

Denmark held the third place position, till they managed to find their way into the first place position, with Australia behind in second and Spain taking third, even after the USA came close but unfortunately was not able to secure third place, placing.


Race Three: Teams came around mark one riding up the course tandem with USA leading at the front of the line, France behind, Great Britain third, Australia fourth, Denmark fifth, and Germany at the back six.

Australia was the first team to break away from the tandem to gate two. USA first, Denmark second, Great Britain, third, and France fourth.

Devastation struck at the end of Race Three, where the New Zealand team lost their sail when it came crashing down leading to their Day Two absence.


DAY TWO

Race one started with Canada leading first around the course at fifty-kilometre speed, while Britain and Australia trailed behind to gate two.

Eventually, Britain overtook Canada to claim the first place position but it quickly lost on the circle round as Canada reclaimed their position. However, Canada would go on to fall into the fourth place after dropping from their foil around gate three.
Britain was back in first place riding that wave across the finish line with Spain, trailing behind for second place and Canada barely squeezing into third place.


Race Two: saw Denmark and the US flying across the start line with the USA pulling into the second place as Denmark led. Australia quickly utilized the mark one bend to snag the first place from Denmark.

Around gate three Australia took over at first pushing Denmark into second and the USA into third as the two fought for the second place placing, behind Australia. Spain tried their hardest but could only hold onto fourth, yet they managed to push the US out, the Den; Ultimately spinning around gate five to take first place without the Australians noticing.


As soon as Australia realized they sprung into action to regain first place pushing Spain back into second. Spain held second while Britain and the US fought it out for third, with the US eventually slipping into fifth on the final lap and Britain holding onto third place.

Nevertheless, as Britain made their way through the gate, Denmark snuck up, pushing Britain trying to steal the third place to no luck; and while Denmark was busy licking their wound, Germany snuck in taking the fourth place position from Denmark leaving them in fifth place.


The final race saw Australia, Britain, and Spain battle it out for the win. Australia led the three, but Spain hung back a bit for the entire race, around gate five into six, Britain sped up grabbing themselves the first place placing for this weekends week.
