My Top Picks and the Ones Still Earning Their Spot

Apple TV+

I didn't expect to become loyal to Apple TV+ so quickly—but once Ted Lasso hit, I was in. That show sold me. Hannah Waddingham’s performance? Award-worthy. Watching Ted, the relentlessly optimistic Kansas football coach, try to wrap his head around English football was just as entertaining as I hoped it’d be.

Since then, my Apple TV+ queue has only grown—and these are the standouts:

1. Your Friends & Neighbors

This one blew me away. The storytelling is magnetic—layered drama, complex characters, and a tension that keeps you locked in. It feels like prestige television with emotional teeth. If you're into shows that unfold like a novel, this is it.

2. The Studio

A smart, offbeat comedy that hits harder than expected. It's Seth Rogen’s second series for Apple TV+, and while I haven’t watched his first yet, The Studio holds up on its own. It’s meta, weird in the best ways, and sneakily clever. A must-watch if you appreciate industry satire with actual soul.

3. Murderbot

I’m not through it yet, but Murderbot is climbing fast. It's already surpassed The Studio on my ranking—and that's saying something. There’s a slickness to the storytelling, a self-awareness that works, and it delivers on the kind of high-concept, tech-driven drama that feels very now.

4. Severance

Let’s just call it what it is: a genre-defining show. The concept is brilliant and the execution is brutal in the best way. I made the mistake of indulging in a few too many spoilers before diving into Season 2, and now I’m hesitant to finish it. Not because it’s bad—because it's so dense and carefully paced that you really need to come in clean. It’s the kind of show you only get to experience properly once.

On the Watchlist

  • Silo vs. Murderbot is the comparison I know I need to make—but I’ve been holding off. Both are still in my queue.

  • Dope Thief is another I’ve avoided, but not ruled out.

  • Shrinking is sadly last in line. Maybe I’ll wedge it between Murderbot and Platonic.

Final Take: Apple TV+ is proving it’s not just a contender—it’s curating one of the most original, emotionally intelligent libraries in streaming. I’ll probably circle back and rank everything properly once I’ve seen more, but as of now, these are the ones worth your time.
